To conclude the 2024 Scottish Food Heritage Symposium, Dr Linday Middleton, food historian and Knowledge Exchange Associate at the University of Glasgow’s College of Arts and Humanities, and Peter Gilchrist, Scottish food history writer, delivered a report on the state of the Scottish Food Heritage sector. By examining the feedback from the 2024 symposium and providing context for food history’s cultural and economic value, the authors hope to secure resources for the sector and provide new opportunities for writers, researchers, folklorists, historians and businesses in Scotland.
